People are devo for Brian McFadden after he took a tumble during the skate-off on Dancing On Ice

Ouch.

(Spoilers ahead for the semi-final of Dancing On Ice!)

BRIAN MCFADDEN TRULY was flying without wings last night when he took an unfortunate hop off the ice during the skate off on Dancing On Ice.

The singer and his partner-on-ice Alex Murphy were hoping to progress to the final of the reality show next week. However, their plans were scuppered when they found themselves in the skate-off alongside hot favourites Saara Alto and Hamish Gaman.

Things went from bad to worse when Brain dropped Alex during the routine, resulting in the pair of them crashing on to the ice.

When it came down to the crunch, judge Jason Gardiner saved Saara and told Brian: β€œHad you not have fallen, this would be a very different outcome.” (Jayne Torvil, Christopher Dean and Ashley Banjo also voted to send Brian and Alex home.)

Clearly disappointed by his performance, Brian apologised to Alex after their fate was revealed.

Slightly speechless, he simply told Holly and Phil: β€œIt’s been amazing. We have had such a great time.”

It seems that the people at home were rooting for Brian and Alex, given the reaction to the star’s exit.

Luckily, Brian was able to see the funny side of things. Uploading a photo of his parents and judge Jason laughing, he captioned the pic: β€œThat moment you drop your partner on dancing on ice and your biggest critics love it!!!”

Hard luck Brian!
