DECLAN MCMULLEN HAD a cardiac arrest in 2012 and sustained brain damage as a result. He has suffered from locked-in syndrome since and his family say that he is unable to see, eat, speak or move as a result.

In this video, entitled Ode to Declan, his brother Mark McMullen serenades him with a moving rendition of Bring Him Home from Les Miserables.

The stunning performance took place in the family’s local pub in Crossgar, Co. Down and has received over 120,000 views since it was uploaded.

Watch for yourself and tell Colm Wilkinson that he’s got some competition on his hands.

Following the video’s success, the family have established a fundraising page to help Declan with his rehabilitation and recovery.
