Give a dog a scone...

Victor the dog is totally dedicated to bringing his owner a fresh scone every day, a Cork bakery reports.

THERE’S DEDICATION, AND then there’s doggie dedication, which takes things to a whole new level.

Victor the dog is so devoted to his owner that he makes sure they are well fed – by stopping off at some local eateries near his home in Cork to pick up treats throughout the day, the Cork Independent reports today.

Cian O’Leary writes:

Victor, a golden retriever, calls to Brackens Bakery twice a day every day to collect his treat. Sometimes it’s a fruit scone but occasionally the bakery’s furriest fan gets a sweeter treat from bakery staff.

The bakery is based on the New Mallow Road in Co Cork, but that’s not the only place Victor pops into.

Also on his list of favourite foodie haunts are The Commons Inn and McDonalds. He’s clearly a dog who thinks it would be barking mad not to shop local.

Brackens Bakery staff member Deborah (pictured) told the Cork Independent:

No one can remember how it started but Victor has been coming to us for as long as anyone can remember. Usually we give him a fruit scone, but it has to be said that he is partial to an occasional chocolate slice.

The staff place Victor’s treat into a bag every day to ensure it makes it back to his owner safely – and without any slobber or teeth marks.
