Written and directed by Irish filmmaker Gerard Barrett, this is a biographical drama about a young New York Post reporter who is struck down with seizures, psychosis, and memory loss. She must go from doctor to doctor in order to secure a diagnosis for her mystery illness. Chloe Grace Moretz stars.
Can’t Cope, Won’t Cope
If you haven’t watched this wonderful comedy drama series about two friends in Dublin, now is your chance. Lucky you. Written by Stefanie Preissner, it follows Aisling and Danielle as they get up to mischief in Dublin, often fueled by far too much alcohol.
Cardboard Gangsters
This Irish film follows a low level drug dealer as he decides to move up the ranks in the drug trade in Darndale, Dublin. Violence ensues. Think of it as being a sort of Love/Hate, the movie.
Cured
A zombie apocalypse movie, filmed in Dublin. Irresistible. This film tells the story of what happens when a cure for the zombie virus is found, and how the broken society is now fixed. Ellen Page, Sam Keeley, and Tom Vaughan Lawlor star.
Handsome Devil
A teenager finds himself out of his comfort zone when he’s sent to a rugby-obsessed Irish boarding school. He soon forms an unlikely bond with the star player, until their classmates preconceptions tests them.
Hostage to the Devil
This documentary tells the story of Irish priest, Father Malachi Martin, whose strong belief in demonic possession eventually leads to him performing several exorcisms. These are all quite grim, aren’t they?

Surely you’ve seen this documentary about Katie Taylor by now. If not, St Patrick’s Day is the perfect time to remedy that.
Michael Inside
A harrowing look at the vicious cycle young men and women can get into with one simple mistake. This movie tells the story of a young man from North Dublin who is caught with some drugs he was holding for his friend’s older brother. Facing jail for three months, we’re brought through his journey as he hopelessly slides off the path he was hoping for in life.

If you’re looking for something a little more feel-good, this documentary about the Marriage Equality referendum in Ireland and the subsequent yes vote on the 22nd of May 2015 will definitely uplift you.
The Foreigner
Pierce Brosnan, looking suspiciously like Gerry Adams, plays a restaurateur who seeks revenge after his daughter is killed by terrorists in Ireland. Again, not the most joyous watch to celebrate the day, but a good one nonetheless.
The Secret Scripture
Directed by Jim Sheridan, this is the story of Roseanne McNulty, a woman confined to the Roscommon Mental Hospital for 50 years. As the institution is about to close, a doctor examines if she’s fit to leave, and ends up finding out the horrible truth about her confinement. Rooney Mara , Jack Reynor, and Aidan Turner star.
The Siege of Jadotville
Starring Jamie Dornan, this movie tells the true story of Irish soldiers who were besieged by enemy forces while on a UN peacekeeping mission in the Congo. They fought for five days to defend their outpost, without ever getting any credit for it.
The Young Offenders
We all know and love this series about the two Cork lads by now, so this weekend is the perfect excuse to watch the film that started it all.
