here comes the trash

Here's everything we know about the Jersey Shore reunion that's happening

Here’s… the situation. Sigh.

TONIGHT WE’RE GOING to party like it’s 2010.

Over the weekend, reports started circulating that everyone’s favourite MTV trash reality show Jersey Shore was coming back for a “reunion”.

Mike “The Situation” was even tweeting about it, once this ad appeared in USA Today

And then he shared this headline on Saturday

Grand, but what do we know right now?

Well, nothing official has been released yet, but local Jersey newspaper Asbury Park Press – part of USA Today’s Network – spotted the cast filming on the boardwalk in late June:

Cast members of the hit MTV show “Jersey Shore” have been in Point Pleasant Beach and Asbury Park in the past month with camera crews  to film a “Jersey Shore” reunion.

Snooki and Deena even posted pictures of the group all together on June 29 and 30

Circumstantial – but promising – evidence.

However, the story got a little murkier when an MTV spokesperson said that the whole thing was not part of a project with the network. NJ.com are reporting that it’s Los Angeles-based Bright Road Productions that are taking on the “reunion” – and they’re not the production company that was in charge of the original series.

So, whatever it is that they were filming in June, it will definitely not be appearing on MTV.

The return hasn’t gone down well with locals though, with Mayor of Asbury Park John Moor saying he had no idea it was happening because of how the production company applied for the relevant licence:

No, we did not know they were coming as they applied under ‘Roadtrip Reunion.’ They paid their fees and everything worked out fine.

Interesting.

The production company requested to film at local spot Langosta Lounge, but the entertainment director Peter Mantas was having none of it:

They called 10 days before they wanted to film and we said no freaking way, it’ll be bad publicity. Bring those meatheads to the Langosta Lounge? No way.

Not a welcome return, then.

So, what we can categorically say is that the gang were back together in Jersey Shore filming – and given the newspaper ad, the reunion show will likely be called “Back At The Jersey Shore”

And there are loads of eye witness accounts of it being filmed

We don’t know what form it will take (legit reunion session or interview-style show?) or what channel it will be on.

People are still very excited though

But there’s just one elephant in the room:

They’re all way older now and have kids

Gym-Tan-Laundry-Creche doesn’t have the same ring to it.
