YESTERDAY EVENING the internet was buzzing at the news that the weird and wonderful 80s film Labyrinth, starring David Bowie, was getting a brand new sequel.

The rumour originated in a Variety article about another Jim Henson Company movie, Which Witch. A single line in that article indicated that a sequel to the 1986 classic Labyrinth was “in development”.

Everyone immediately got very excited.

Unfortunately, Entertainment Weekly reports today that The Jim Henson Company has no immediate plans to develop a sequel:

It’s one of those legacy titles that is floated at most meetings, but sadly, nothing is actually in development at the moment.

Ah. Oh. *weeps*
