People were upset that the TV adaptation of Lady Chatterley's Lover wasn’t smutty enough
The BBC’s retelling didn’t go down too well.

THE MUCH-ANTICIPATED TV adaptation of Lady Chatterley’s Lover was broadcast on BBC One last night.

The TV show is based on the 1928 book of the same name by DH Lawrence, which was banned in various countries and the subject of many obscenity courtcases for its scandalous (at the time) description of the sex between a working class man and an upper class woman.

The two main roles were played by Game of Thrones actor Richard Madden, and actress Holliday Granger, and the show quickly started trending on Twitter in Ireland last night.

But the chat was far from positive.

People weren’t convinced with how faithful it was to the book

Most notably, the smut was lacking

But it wasn’t all a thirst to see some period-drama action, many felt leaving it out strayed too far from the book

Others were just thankful for how far we’ve come

Then, there’s this to consider…

Shots fired.
