Forgetting to tell your girlfriend you love her? There's an app for that

It also works the other way around. Obviously.

"Totally swamped."

WE’RE ALL VERY busy people. Right? Am I right?

And in this modern world, there are so many things clamouring for our attention that it can be easy to forget to do the simple ones.

Like, for example, telling your boyfriend or girlfriend that you love them.

Step forward Romantimatic: an app that reminds you to send loving messages to your other half on a regular basis.

You get a range of options, including “All-Time Classics” like “I love you”, “I miss you” and “You make me happy”.

There are also more subtle variations, like for when you’re busy. “Headed into a meeting, but wanted to tell you I’m thinking about you.” Or “Totally swamped, but can’t get you off my mind.”

The app’s description reads:

Even with the amazing technology we have in our pockets, we can fly through the day without remembering to send a simple “I love you” to the most important person in our lives. Romantimatic can help.

Romantimatic, however, has sparked a mixed reaction online. Some have seen it as a symptom of a society gone wrong:

However, others are more appreciative:

Romantimatic’s creator Greg Knauss has written a thoughtful defence of the app here. But in the meantime: I’m totally swamped, but I can’t get you off my mind.
