THIS EVENING, RTÉ’s coverage of the National Ploughing Championships came to an end.
To mark the end of this year’s festival, Marty Morrissey was challenged to go on a 50 metre amusement.
Specifically this 50 metre amusement.
*gulp*
He wasn’t exactly thrilled at the prospect of going on it…
But he went ahead with it nonetheless.
I don’t understand why Aine Lawlor gets to bake bread, and I have to do this craic.
“Down we go!”

Soon there was wailing, cursing and exclamations of “Lord above in heaven!”
It was safe to say that Marty wasn’t loving it.

Look at the terror in his eyes when he realises it isn’t over.

But when it came to an end, Marty composed himself and managed to make the most Marty Morrissey remark of all-time.
That was the best ride I’ve ever had.
Bravo, Marty.
(Look closely and you can actually see Marty bang his head while getting out. Ouch.)

God bless you, Marty Morrissey.
