DERRY GIRLS’ NICOLA Coughlan isn’t here for your shady, not-so-subtle sexist remarks on her work, thank you.
The actress is currently starring in The Prime Of Miss Jean Brodie as Joyce Emily, with the production receiving rave reviews from a number of critics.
However, Philip Fisher of the British Theatre Guide had an entirely different – and honestly irrelevant – take on the show, referring to her character as an “overweight little girl”.
This isn’t the first time Fisher has made such keen observations. A year ago, when Coughlan starred in Jess And Joe Forever, he referred to as a “fat girl”.
This hasn’t gone unnoticed by Coughlan, who called out the critic following his most recent review.

The British Theatre Guide responded to Coughlan via Twitter:
Nicola, we apologise unreservedly for the offence caused by the wording of this review. The offending words have been removed.
While the reviewer may not have intended to offend, he accepts that it is not acceptable to use such descriptions in a review and not BTG policy.”
Sounds like someone who took lessons from Kevin Spacey on apologising.
