THIS IS THE last day of Pope Benedict XVI’s time as pontiff.

His powers will officially expire at 7pm tonight, following the announcement earlier this month that he was stepping down.

The official reason for retirement was his health. But here at DailyEdge.ie we have an alternative theory: the incredible amount of sass that he got after joining Twitter.
