She's back: Cheryl Cole 'to return to US X-Factor' after being dropped just last week

Just over a week after she was dropped it’s reported that the Geordie lass will be back on US screens after executives were lobbied by, yes you guessed it, Simon Cowell.

CHERYL COLE IS reported to be heading back to the US version of the X-Factor just over a week after she was dropped because of her thick Geordie accent.

If the reports are true, then Cheryl probably “cannae believe it”.

The News of the World reports (subscription) that Cole is expected to rejoin filming this Wednesday when auditions begin in New Jersey.

As might be expected it is X Factor supremo Simon Cowell who is responsible for the rehiring of the former Girls Aloud singer with executives at Fox Television realising they made a big mistake, according to the tabloid.

A source tells the Daily Mail it is unclear whether or not she will accept the offer to return as the ball is in her court.

Neither Cowell nor Fox have actually publicly confirmed her original departure but Cheryl has not been seen in public since the news emerged.

Her return would see Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole Scherzinger – who was given Cheryl’s place on the panel after her sudden exit – return to her original role as co-host with presenter Steve Jones.

The Sunday Mirror also reports on Cheryl’s second chance but cites sources as saying that while talks about a return are taking place any deal is “a long way off.”

Perhaps, the US TV execs will have to make a few promises not to repeat their antics, we know that Cheryl will Promise This
