TOMORROW, BOYS AND girls, is the Late Late Toy Show 2014.
It’s going out on RTÉ One from 9.35pm until just before midnight. A whopping three-and-a-half hours of Ryan Tubridy getting clattered by hyperactive smallies.
But how can you watch it if you’re abroad? We’re here to help.
So when does it start?
Here are a few handy locations:
- Sydney, Australia: Saturday morning at 8.35am
- Perth, Australia: Saturday morning at 5.35am
- Toronto, Canada: Friday afternoon at 4.35pm
- San Francisco, USA: Friday afternoon at 1.35pm
- Seoul, South Korea: Saturday morning at 6.35am
How can I watch it?
The Toy Show is being streamed live on the RTÉ Player, online on web browsers and via the broadcaster’s iOS and Android apps. For anyone who doesn’t fancy getting up at 5am in Perth to catch it live, it will also be available for another three weeks.
The RTÉ Player is usually blocked outside Ireland, but the broadcaster is making an exception for the Toy Show. Good lads.
OK… How reliable is the RTÉ Player?
Um, pretty reliable. But it DOES have a habit of playing tricks at important moments in Irish television.
What about AerTV? Will that work?
Sadly, streaming service AerTV won’t broadcast Irish channels outside Ireland even if you have the app.
Most of our channels are restricted to viewing from within The Republic of Ireland. Our player does this by checking you have an Irish IP address. You will see this message if you are trying to view the channel from a non-Irish IP address.
Are there any other options?
Yes! Thankfully, there are a few live unofficial live streams of RTÉ around the internet in case of emergency.
You can also check Twitter during the broadcast for any more – here are a couple of handy search links:
Now you should be all set. Feel free to settle in and play our Late Late Toy Show Drinking Game while you’re watching… although if it’s 5am, you might want to do it with coffee.
