The School Around the Corner is coming back

“They’ve computers now you see….is the school around the corner just the same?”

THE IRREPRESSIBLE THEME tune, Gerry Ryan’s oversized shirts, the bizarrely-colourful set and the unpredictable words from the mouths of babes made the School Around the Corner a must-watch in most Irish households in the early-1990s.

The folk at RTÉ must be getting nostalgic as they’ve decided to bring the programme back for its fourth incarnation. The broadcaster announced today that it has commissioned a special edition of the programme for Christmas.

“The much loved format will be presented by Ray D’Arcy,” the press office tweeted.

We’re hoping he raids the old wardrobes.
