TWITTER IS REPORTED to have fast-tracked the verification of outspoken actor Charlie Sheen’s account with the website which has so far accrued over one million followers in the two days since it was set up.
GQ magazine has revealed that social media marketing company ad.ly brokered the deal whereby Sheen secured the Twitter name @CharlieSheen and was quickly verified by micro-blogging website so as that we all knew it was really him.
Sheen began posting on Tuesday. His Twitter bio reads: ”Born Small… Now Huge… Winning… Bring it..! (unemployed winner…)”
His popularity on Twitter comes amid a whirlwind of bizarre television interviews in which he has raged against the producers of the hit TV show ‘Two and A Half Men’ which was cancelled last week following his outburst at creator Chuck Lorre.
The speed at which people have followed Sheen is said to be easily the fastest that Twitter has ever seen, according to Ad Age.
