And yet, it seems that Yoko Ono is impressed by the work of Daniel O’Connell. This evening Ono, who is in Dublin to receive a lifetime achievement award for her contribution to arts and campaigning, tweeted a photo of herself in his crypt in Glasnevin with a message about how his life was inspiring to many around the world.
The tweet, which was slightly cut off by Twitter’s 140-character limit, read in full:
“I am praying for the soul of Daniel O’Connell. May he rest in peace. May his life history be told to us all and add to our energy of activism”.
