When five became four: Barlow says Robbie has left Take That (again)

Five became four and then five again…but now Take That seem to have confused themselves with Gary Barlow leaving the door open for Robbie Williams to return.

BOY BAND EXTRAORDINAIRE Take That are back to being a foursome as Robbie Williams decides to focus on his solo career once more.

As the band takes a break while Gary Barlow works on The X Factor, Williams is said to be working on his own material.

However, there seems to be mixed reports this morning about whether the band has split for good.

The latest edition of the Radio Times magazine quotes Barlow saying the reunion with Robbie had come to an end.

“It was beautiful. We got on well. We finished the tour. We’re all happy,” he said.

But Barlow left the door open for Williams to return to the fold whenever he wants.

You know what, we can revisit it whenever we want. He’s our brother, Rob is, and if he’s ever in trouble or he wants to have a year off being Robbie Williams, he’s welcome any time he wants.”

A Take That spokesperson told RTÉ, “I can confirm that the band are not splitting and there is no pending announcement of a split.

The band are on a break, Gary is doing X Factor and Robbie is working on his new solo album.”

AOL’s celebrity news website reports that Barlow explained that for the moment the band are a four piece but they could also be a five piece again.

Williams left Take That in 1995 with the rest of the band going their separate ways a year later. Nine years on, the band reformed and announced a reunion tour. They recorded two studio albums before Robbie rejoined Howard, Mark, Gary and Jason to work on the band’s sixth studio album, Progress, which was released in 2010.
