Irish mammy made Christmas dinner in Carlow today for emigrating son

God bless us, everyone.

IT WAS 22 degrees in Carlow today.

Probably the warmest weather in which a Christmas dinner has ever been cooked in Ireland.

But that didn’t stop Alan Regan’s mammy Joan, who pulled out all the stops to produce this feast in advance of her son’s departure for Vancouver.

We approve of the presence of the mushy peas and look at the shine off that gravy. Sublime. There’s a bang of fancy off that cutlery too.

Regan told DailyEdge.ie that it wasn’t even jumper weather in Carlow today, “let alone Christmas jumper weather”.

But the meal was delicious and went down a treat. Plus, even though she’s losing her second-born to Vancouver, my mam got an extra reason to break out the fancy cutlery. So everybody wins really.

Former Newstalk employee Regan is heading to Vancouver on Friday morning with his friend and fellow Carlow man Rudi Corcoran (who you might recognise from this) . His brothers Damien and Colin were also on hand today to enjoy the turkey, ham and all the other essentials.

Bon Voyage lads!
