A NUMBER OF pictures of a nude or nearly nude Jennifer Lawrence which began circulating online yesterday do appear to have been stolen from the actress.
The images first appeared on the sharing website 4chan, all uploaded by a single user who claimed to have images of around a hundred celebrities – mostly female. Actresses Aubrey Plaza, Alison Brie, Kate Bosworth, and Kirsten Dunst are all on a list released by the user on 4chan and subsequently uploaded as a screenshot to imgur.
It’s believed the images were obtained via Apple’s iCloud storage system.
Jennifer Lawrence’s representative has confirmed to Buzzfeed that the images are real, calling it a “flagrant violation of privacy”. The statement also said that anyone posting the images of Lawrence will be prosecuted.
A selection of other photos of celebrities who appear on the list have also been released. Final Destination and Death Proof actress Mary Elizabeth Winstead is one of those whose images have been leaked. She too has confirmed their authenticity, tweeting:

Meanwhile actress Victoria Justice denied that images alleged to be of her were real:
A spokesperson for Ariana Grande has also told Buzzfeed that images allegedly of Grande are not real.
