Something you may not know is that an extremely well known Home and Away character has been working as a “series consultant” on this season of Fair City.
A certain Kane Philips.
Yes, Sam Atwell, who plays Kane Philips on the Aussie soap during the noughties, works on Fair City now.
IT’S LIKE SOAP INCEPTION.
According to IFTN, Atwell joined Fair City back in 2014 after he was brought on to direct a few episodes. He was later appointed series consultant and has been in the job ever since.
He explained to the website how it all came together.
This all came together because of my wife (actress Alison McGirr). She works here and I asked how I would go about getting into writing over here. She took my CV and gave it to Brigie (de Courcy – Executive Producer) so I met with Brigie and she said if I were interested in working in ‘Fair City’, they were looking for directors who could direct multi-cam so I took that and then this job became available so I jumped into it.
Sure, there he is now.
Atwell has even managed to use his Home and Away connections to bring Dan Ewing, aka Heath Braxton, to McCoy’s.
