Simon Cowell has just announced a charity single for victims of the London tower fire... it's the Dredge

The tragedy of the Grenfell Tower Block fire in London continues today, with firefighters still tackling blazes breaking out in the building.

People in the area have been opening their hearts and homes to locals affected by the situation, and Simon Cowell has announced that he’s going to be releasing a charity single to raise money:

He confirmed it live on This Morning today that it’s going ahead – and it’s more than just hard money he’s planning to raise. He wants the record to ’prick a few people’s consciousness’ about what has gone on there:

He said:

For all of us who live in the vicinity, we have the ability to do something… and that what I’m hoping will happen with the record is that it pricks a few people’s consciousness and then other people decide to do something else. When you’re in this position and you’re worried about what you have lost, your belongings, people are still missing, families and everything else, I feel that it’s the right thing to do. I really do.

Given Adele, Rita Ora and Lily Allen have all been to the scene and offered support, you’d have to think that many big names will be willing to get behind the project and turn their fame into something tangible for the victims.

The recording is set to take place this weekend, and Cowell is appealing to stars to contribute from “anywhere in the world”.

Once again, Serena Williams is wowing the world with unexpected feats – this time playing tennis while she’s heavily pregnant.

She posted this video to Instagram yesterday. Casual enough, like:

The pregnancy that just keeps on giving.

Unrealistic expectations of tennis playing, aside.

There was a rumour going around earlier this week that Lorde was secretly running an Instagram account that reviewed onion rings.

Bizarrely, and brilliantly, it’s true.

She admitted it on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon:

The account was deleted when the first story broke, but now she’s owned up to it she should definitely reactivate it and get back to doing what she loves:

More onion rings, please.
