Teen wakes up during brain surgery, asks doctors 'How's it going?'

SCREEEEEAAAM.

IN A SCENE straight out of a horror film, a Polish teen awoke in the middle of brain surgery and asked her doctors: “How’s it going?”

Iga Jasica (19) was having surgery to remove a cancerous growth on her brain at Central Clinical Hospital in Katowice, south-west Poland.

Metro reports that during the operation she woke from her anaesthesia, calmly turned to the doctors and asked how they were getting on with the surgery. She also started chatting to her doctors about cats (a woman after our own heart).

The hospital is investigating the incident, but insists that Jasica was not in pain in the moments she was awake.

“Despite coming round, she didn’t feel anything and was never in danger,” neurosurgeon Dawid Larysz told the Daily Mirror.

Jasica herself appears to think it was gas altogether:

I can’t remember much but the doctor said he talked to me about cats, which I love. I missed Christmas because of this operation but it is the best present I could have had, as I am now feeling great.

Glad to hear you’re recovering, Iga. We, however, will never be OK with this.
