SCREAM! 5ive, Atomic Kitten and B*Witched are getting back together

With bonus retrospective YouTube disco.

5ive will make you get down...
5ive will make you get down...

A FEW WEEKS back we wistfully mused that B*witched were among the great Irish pop bands that could get back together.

THEY’RE ONLY GOING AND BLOODY DOING IT!

ITV2 is preparing to air a documentary series about a whole bunch of nineties pop bands who are making a comeback.

Liberty X, 911, Atomic Kitten, 5ive and the Honeyz are also going to be digging out the combats, rip-off tracksuit bottoms (remember, the ones with the poppers down the side) and rubber jumpsuits (for old times’ sake Liberty X, pretty please?) to star in The Big Reunion, according to Digital Spy.

Ritchie Neville from 5ive (he’s the one who went out with Billie Piper) tweeted earlier today:

Scott Robinson from the band tweeted:

We are so happy for the five fans who have waited for this for over 11 years.

(We think he means the 5ive fans, rather than a tiny group of five people hanging on for another rendition of Slam Dunk Da Funk after all these times)

B*Witched’s Lindsay Armaou also tweeted about her band’s reunion earlier, saying “the rumours are true”. She also married Lee from 911 in 2006. Little bit of nostalgic romance for you there.

The twins Edele and Keavey Lynch attempted a comeback as a duo last year calling themselves Barbarella, which was rather cruelly dubbed “The most ill-advised pop comeback ever… B*Witched twins look like cheap Lady Gagas from attempted chart return” by the Daily Mail.

Fight like me da aswell:

Let’s remember that one of the members of 5ive was called Abs. Or it might have been Abz:

There are those rubber suits we were talking about:
