Tractor football needs to be Ireland's new national sport

Who’s up for setting up a tractor football league?

TODAY MARKED THE first day of the National Ploughing Championships 2016 and, as usual, it’s proven to be a celebration of all things weird, wonderful and agricultural.

The highlight of day one?

That would have to be tractor football, a newfangled sport that is exactly what it sounds like

Yep, it’s just two tractors knocking a football back and forth.

Like so.

This afternoon, Laois squared off against Offaly in a game of tractor football and, as you can tell, it was a rather thrilling fixture.

Move over, Diarmuid Connolly, wha’?

Among those playing? Marty Morrissey.

But of course.

Marty ended up scoring a hat trick and, in doing so, estbalished himself as one of Ireland’s most exciting young tractor footballers
