WHEN YOU GET your first bank card, one of the things you learn is to keep it to yourself.
Guess this memo didn’t reach the dozens of people who’ve posted photos of their new credit and debit cards on Twitter?
It’s usually just the front, but some tweets include what they say is the security code on the back of the card. This phenomenon has become big enough that entire Twitter accounts exist to retweet photos of other people’s debit cards, with all the details visible.
There’s even an automated account that tweets back at people who post their card details, telling them to cancel them.
So everyone PLEASE stop posting photos of your new bank cards to Twitter. It’s ridiculous, and you will end up poorer.
