Beyoncé to headline Glastonbury

The singer has been confirmed as the headline act for the sought-after Sunday night Pyramid slot.

BEYONCÉ HAS BEEN confirmed as the headline act for this summer’s Glastonbury festival – following in the footsteps of her husband Jay Z who headed the event in 2008.

The singer has secured the coveted Sunday night slot on the Pyramid stage, and will play a 90 minute headline set, the BBC reports.

Beyoncé said: “This really is the biggest festival in the world and I cannot wait to perform there. Everyone who attends is really appreciative of music and is in such a good mood that entire weekend.

“I’m pumped just thinking about that huge audience and soaking up their energy,” reports the Press Association.

Last year, headliners included Stevie Wonder and Gorillaz.

It has become a custom for the festival to be sold out long before the acts are officially confirmed.
