off your feet

Celebs are obsessed with putting CBD cream on their feet. But why?

Mandy Moore slathered it on before the Golden Globes.

AWARDS SEASON IS upon us which means there’ll be gongs and gowns galore on red carpets across the world.

If you’ve ever sat at home watching, wondering, “how the hell does Mandy Moore manage to stand there next to Ryan Seacrest for so long without wanting to rip her shoes off?!”, an answer may be at hand.

As it turns out, the secret isn’t those Scholl Party Feet as much as the ads would like you to believe, (slippery pads made of LIES), but rather CBD oil.

On the recommendation of her stylist, Mandy now lashes the stuff on to her feet so she can last a night in heels.

If you’re an avid celebrity stalker, you might also have seen celebs trading recommendations for it deep in their IG comments. Pre-Golden Globes, Busy Phillips got on to her ol’ pal Kristen Bell to make sure she was slathering her feet in CBD cream to prevent blisters.

Now, CBD oil might be something your unfamiliar with, so allow me to get you up to speed there first. Cannabidiol, from the marijuana plant, is a popular natural remedy used for many common ailments.

The oil is made by extracting CBD from the cannabis plant, then diluting it with a carrier oil like coconut or hemp seed oil.

Unlike THC, however, CBD is not psychoactive, making it an appealing option for those who are looking for relief from pain and other symptoms without any mind-altering effects. (There is increasing clinical evidence about its success as a treatment but CBD is not currently authorised as a medicinal product by the Health Products Regulatory Authority (HPRA) in Ireland.)

Riiiiiight. But what the f*ck has that got to do with your feet?

A quick peruse of online forums shows that people suffering with neuropathy, heel pain, Athlete’s foot, among other issues are all singing the praises of topical CBD products.

If you fancy testing it out for yourself, CBD Relieve in ST. Stephen’s Green Shopping Centre, Dublin sell CBD in a variety of forms such as vaping liquids, droplets, body oils and body creams. We might just trial it ourselves for the sake of an Insta story …
