Are these the cheapest pints in Ireland?

A collection of the best value to be had out there.

GOING TO THE pub in Ireland and saving money aren’t things you can pull off at the same time.

Often the price of a round would drive you to pre-drinking instead before you head out.

So, with that in mind, an investigation into where you can actually get value for pints turned up some pubs of note. Heroic places like:

McSwiggan’s, Galway

The Galway pub were famous for their €3 Guinness, but that’s now up to €3.50 a go.

Still, it’s excellent value for a pint of plain in Galway city – and it’s hard to match elsewhere.

The Hole in the Wall, Galway

Famous for its Donegal Tuesday student day out, this Galway pub is well known for its cheap pints all year round as well.

This mysterious pub in Cobh, County Cork turned up

But perhaps its 2012 prices have shot up back to normality in the meantime.

There was also talk on Facebook back in 2012 that Rosses’ pub in Donegal did the cheapest pint in the county – but no evidence has turned up since to support the claim.

In Dublin, O’Reilly’s under Tara Street station is well known for a cheap one

They have consistently served all their pints in and below the €4 mark – and they can go even cheaper on certain nights.

Dicey’s on Harcourt street is also famous for its €2 pints on certain nights

And then you have the Three Tun Tavern in Blackrock

As part of Weatherspoon’s, its pints are lauded for their serious value.
