Celebrities have been paying tribute to Linkin Park's Chester Bennington, who died yesterday

The 41-year-old singer was found dead yesterday.

OVER THE LAST twenty years, there have been few bands that have managed to appeal to fans of all music genres in the way that Linkin Park did.

They were beloved by hard rock fans, but also managed to successfully transcend that genre and appeal to a broader audience with radio-friendly singles like In The End, Somewhere I Belong and Faint.

The group achieved mainstream success when they collaborated with Jay-Z on the mash-up album Collision Course in 2003 and even topped the charts in Ireland with the album’s lead single Numb/Encore.

More recently, they collaborated with man of the moment Stormzy on the song Good Goodbye, which was featured on their most recent album One More Light. Here they are performing live together at the O2 Arena earlier this month.

As such, celebrities from across the musical spectrum have taken to Twitter to pay tribute to Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington, who died yesterday.

Stormzy, who has been outspoken about his own struggles with depression, took to Twitter this to share how devastated he is by the loss of Chester.

Various musicians and figures from the industry like Justin Timberlake, Jimmy Kimmel, Dwayne Johnson and Hozier have also expressed their shock and sadness.

Rihanna shared a photo of Chester Bennington on Instagram and wrote, “Literally the most impressive talent I’ve ever seen live! Vocal beast!”

Rest in peace, Chester.
