Uh oh

A fitness blogger sparked uproar when she posted this selfie with her newborn baby

Chontel Duncan was accused of not supporting her son’s head.

BACK IN MARCH, Australian fitness blogger Chontel Duncan made waves when she shared a photo demonstrating how pregnancy looks different for every woman.

Duncan gave birth to her son, Jeremiah, on March 25th and has been documenting her experience as a new Mam ever since.

Last week, she posted the following photo with her newborn son and sparked outrage among commenters, who accused her of not supporting his little head.

This not the way to be holding a newborn baby just because u want to show off tor body u should be supporting he’s head he’s only a little
You should be ashamed of yourself and ur little baby, he is so small

In response, Duncan shared a before-and-after photos to show that the baby had merely moved his head for a split second and wasn’t sitting unsupported for long.

Sorry but I’m not going to be nice about what I think about your belittling attempts to educate me on the safety or better yet my intentions as a new mum.
As explained earlier Miah lifted his head up an for that second that he did so, I just happened to have caught it on camera, before he then laid his head back down on my chest. New borns can lift their own heads up its not me standing there with his head flicked back shooting away…
So have faith people and if you honestly don’t like my page just CLICK UNFOLLOW!!!!! As I’ve always said, any negative comments will be deleted and I will block you!

She has since received support from fellow Mams who have confirmed that it’s not unusual for a newborn to lift their head in the first month.

My daughter was a day old, lifted her head up and looked around the room after being in a similar position. F**k the haters. Being a new mum is hard, you don’t need people giving you shit too.
I work with infants and sometimes very much NEW borns from time to time. Yes, they can lift their heads. It’s possible. I can tell from the first picture that it was him lifting his head. The angle of his body laying on you is obvious that he is in fact laying on you and just decided to lift his head. It’s not complicated science to figure that out.

Babies, eh? Never a dull moment.
