IN THE ERA of #LivingYourBestLie on social media, Chrissy Teigen is refreshingly candid.
Except perhaps with this baby-weight shedding post.
Today she whipped out a gas but embarrassing story about a “jealousy-fuelled meltdown” she had when she was 22-years-old and just a year into her relationship with John Legend.
The background context of the story is important.
Chrissy had met John in 2007 when she played his love interest for the music video of his song Stereo.
Whilst the pair hit if off straight away – Chrissy once said of their first meeting “I’m not going to lie. We hooked up [that night]” – their relationship was a slow burner instead of an instant roaring fire, with the pair taking a couple of months before getting serious.
So Chrissy knew how chemistry could be sparked on the set of a music video.
Fast forward a year later to 2008 and Chrissy is on the set of another music video for John. Except this time, she wasn’t playing his love interest.
She was watching behind the scenes as another beautiful model dance her way through sexy scenes with John.
Yikes!
Watching the monitor with her was John’s manager, some co-writers and some others who kept talking and winding her up about how ‘BEAAAAAAUUUUTIFUL’ some of the women were.
As she closely watched John and the model/dancer interact, Chrissy started making up conversations they were having in their head.
We all can relate to the pain of watching someone you absolutely adore, but are not secure with, hang out with someone else, making you wonder if you’re ‘enough’.
Also, none of us usually have to compete with drop-dead gorgeous models.
Ugh, cringing for Chrissy.
