Cinema trip this weekend? TheJournal.ie brings you snippets from new releases to help you decide where to put your money…

WHICH NEW MOVIE release is worth the price of a cinema ticket this weekend?

We’re here to help you decide just that, with these trailers.

Thanks for Sharing

For fans of: Love, sex, friendship

Avoid if: You’re a Ruffalo addict

Uh oh. Mark Ruffalo is in recovery from sex addiction, but then he meets smoking hot babe Gwyneth Paltrow. We meet him and his two friends who are also in different stages of dealing with addiction, as  they struggle to do the right thing.

Filth

(Film is Now – Hollywood/YouTube)

For fans of: Irvine Welsh, Scotland

Avoid if: You prefer cleanliness

You won’t like the protagonist in this film version of the Irvine Welsh book, but that’s exactly what’s meant to happen. James McAvoy plays a horribly bigoted and corrupt copper who is pretty much devoid of morals. Will he ever be able to get clean?

The To-Do List

(movieclips trailers/YouTube)

For fans of: Teen comedies, filthy jokes

Avoid if: Aubrey Plaza’s dead-eyed stare makes you feel uncomfortable

The usually emotionless Aubrey Plaza is forced to dig deep to portray a nerdy, unpopular teen who creates a ‘to do list’ for all the sexual things she needs to do before she gets to college. We’re not sure this is as sex-positive and empowering as it makes itself out to be. Sigh.
