Cinema trip this weekend? TheJournal.ie brings you snippets from new releases to help you decide where to put your money

WHICH NEW MOVIE release is worth the price of a cinema ticket this weekend?

We’re here to help you decide just that, with these trailers.

Iron Man 3

(MarvelUK/YouTube)

For fans of: Iron Men, Robert Downey Jr, sculpted goatees

Avoid if: You don’t like seeing RDJ unhappy

He’s back – and he’s not happy. Robert Downey Jr returns to his metal suit to play Iron Man, but his life isn’t going so swell. For starters, his relationship seems like it’s in trouble, and the new baddie, the Mandarin, not only has a creepy accent and weird hair, but is pretty deadly at his job.

Bernie

(movieclipstrailers/YouTube)

Jack Black plays a nice guy who is beloved of all his town – except one woman (Shirley McClaine, ring a ding ding) who hates him and everyone else. But the two of them strike up a friendship… before things go disastrously awry. This looks surprisingly decent for a film starring Black, who tends to go for one-note characters.

Jump

(tiff/YouTube)

For fans of: Angels, Northern Ireland

Avoid if: You prefer Christmas

New Year’s Eve, eh? Fab for some, hellish for others. Northern Irish film Jump looks at three different stories on what is the biggest night of the year, as their worlds collide in a pretty spectacular fashion. Following on from the recent success of Good Vibrations, it’s great to see the North producing such high-quality new films.
