Here's what the cast of Dublin Wives are up to now

Peak trash TV.

IF YOU HAVEN’T seen Dublin Wives, you’re either far too young to remember it (or anything), or have a frantic aversion to trash TV that you announce on the internet every time a Kardashian is mentioned.

There are simply no other excuses.

Dubbed Ireland’s ‘Real Housewives Of’ offshoot, the TV 3 show grabbed attention in 2012 when it was broadcast to the nation for the first time.

The premise was that we’d watch these wives and their lavish lives as they stirred up shit and got their makeup done professionally to go down the shops. TV 3 described them as ‘living the dream’ with ‘handsome husbands, beautiful children, stylish homes, and a fabulous wardrobe’.

All any woman could want, eh?

If you need your memory refreshed, here’s one of the many, many episodes that you can find on Youtube.

Unfortunately, when Jeff Ford replaced Ben Frow as content director at TV 3 he announced he wanted to take the channel from trashy to upmarket. Obviously, this meant that Dublin Wives got the chop.

Weird, as they were fashioning the animal print trend years before it peaked.

But what have the cast been up to since that faithful day?

Danielle Meagher

Danielle was the rebel of the bunch. She was constantly bickering with the other wives, and was even uninvited to a New York trip because she fell out with Virginia. The drama!

As any die hard Dublin Wives fan will tell you, Danielle went on Celebrity Big Brother in 2013 with the likes of Dustin Diamond, Courtney Stodden, and Charlotte Crosby. Chancer! She was evicted first, however.

Now, Danielle is the CEO, a producer, and a writer at Unhinged Media. According to their website, she’s been busy getting qualifications in acting both in Ireland and Hollywood. She lives between Dublin, London, and LA. Very fancy.

She ceased her work as Medical Director at the DermaFace anti-ageing and anti-wrinkle clinic in Dublin with a sale of the clinic in December.

Danielle has also changed her name to Danielle Marr Collins since the show.

Jo Jordan

Entrepreneur Jo Jordan had a rough upbringing in Dublin, and had her first child at 16. Viewers of Dublin Wives will remember that she was the down to earth, no-nonsense mammy-like figure among the girls. She earned her place on the show as she and her husband started a business, JJ Carpets, which became a big success.

Jo admitted that she became a recluse after the show, and that it left her not trusting anyone. While she said she thought the show would be a nice thing to do after being a young single mother, she ended up regretting it.

But the spotlight it brought me, I didn’t deal with it well, and the celeb world it showed is just useless. None of it is real.

She also suffered a heart attack in 2016 at the age of 42, citing ‘stress and heartbreak’ as the cause.

She is still at the helm of JJ Carpets, by the looks of things.

Lisa Murphy

Lisa Murphy appeared on Dublin Wives as she was dating well-known solicitor Gerald Kean at the time. She owned a beauty salon, A New Lisa Life.

While the salon doesn’t exist anymore, Lisa still pops up in the social pages of the Sunday papers often. So that’s something.

She sadly split with Gerald a few months after the show finished up.

Roz Flanagan

Roz was the one where you kinda couldn’t tell her apart from her four daughters. She was very much a woman of leisure, a good friend to the girls, and filled her time with her work with The Cari Foundation.

As for now? More of the same, I’d say.

Roz has been keeping active on social media and recently married off her daughter Stephanie. Yes, the one that came home during Spring Break and got all sad about leaving her mam.

Can I also just remind you that this woman is in her mid 50s?

Roz is truly living her best life, visiting her daughters around the world and generally hanging out with celebs on Instagram.

Virginia Macari

Virginia has probably been the most commercially successful of the bunch.

She won her place on the show due to her family’s Chipper chain. She used the show to launch her luxury bikini line, as well as show off her peak Celtic Tiger-era penthouse apartment and baby son Thor.

Virginia had a rough few years after the show, with her fiance pleading guilty to fraud charges.

However, she’s come out of it shining. After a move to Spain, she released a swimwear collection, Virginia Macari Beachwear Couture.

Vogue Williams has modelled for her collection and Made in Chelsea star Millie Mackintosh has been spotted in the bikinis. The website and social hasn’t been updated in a while but you can still purchase beachwear from the website. Prices start at about €200.

Oh and Thor? Yeah he’s not a tiny baby anymore.

SOB.
