DUP councillor to Rihanna: Put your clothes back on

Alderman Alan Graham had given the singer permission to use his land for a video shoot, changed his mind when he saw her attire.

POP SUPERSTAR RIHANNA was forced to disrupt a video shoot in Co Down yesterday, when a DUP councillor insisted that she put on more clothes.

Alderman Alan Graham, who owns the corn farm on which the shoot was taking place, said he was on his tractor working elsewhere on his farm in Bangor when he spotted the Barbadian singer’s attire – and demanded that the “inappropriate” clothes be replaced.

Graham, a councillor for Bangor West, told radio station U105 that he had been approached last week asking to allow his grain field be used for shooting a film.

“At that time I didn’t know who was coming – I didn’t know that until yesterday morning,” Graham, 61, said.

“Even if I had known, I’m afraid I’m a little bit illiterate regarding these issues”.

The Sun today publishes a photograph of part of the Barbadian singer’s shoot – for her new video We Found Love, a collaboration with Calvin Harris – in which she appears to be completely topless.

It was at this point, UTV explains, that Graham felt the shoot was becoming “unacceptable”.

Graham told the BBC that he wished “no ill will against Rihanna and her friends” and that he had been treated in a “very gentlemanly way” when he had proceeded to raise his concerns.

From my point of view, it was my land, I have an ethos and I felt it was inappropriate… Perhaps they could acquaint themselves with a greater God.

The singer has just travelled to Northern Ireland from Brazil, where she performed at the Rock in Rio festival. She’s in Ireland to play three nights at the Belfast Odyssey arena later this week, before appearing in Dublin’s O2 on Monday.
