11 films released in 2013 that you should really catch up on

If there’s one thing the Christmas break is good for, it’s watching some films.

THERE ALWAYS SEEMS to be loads of films out that you want to see until  you sit down to actually watch one.

Then, suddenly, your mind goes completely blank and you can’t think of a single thing to watch.  Now that most people have a bit of time on their hands, we thought we’d help you out with a few suggestions.

Here are some films you may have missed over the course of 2013, which we think you’ll enjoy.

If you missed this thriller in the cinema then now is the perfect time to give it a look.

It will have you on the edge of your seat, and features great acting from Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal.

This indie film was written and directed by the charming Lake Bell and would be a perfect watch for a family with older or adult kids.

Good Vibrations

This Irish film tells the story of Terri Hooley, a record-store owner who played a key role in Belfast’s punk scene.

It’s fun, captures a real moment in Ireland’s musical history, and features Tommy from Love/Hate.  What’s not to like?

The Heat

Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy star in this comedy about a straight laced FBI agent who teams up with a rebellious cop.

It’s a little ridiculous, slightly vulgar, and lots of fun.

The Way, Way Back

This film about a teenager finding himself in the context of parent drama is great, and would be enjoyed by adults and teenagers alike.

Keep the peace and stick this on when you’re on the verge of killing each other.

Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa

The Alan Partridge film was actually decent, and a great way to while away a couple of hours if you enjoy that brand of cringey humour.

This documentary explores the consequences of animals like killer whales living in captivity.

It’s been raved about all over the world and has lots of Oscar buzz around it.
