A Friday Flashback to get your weekend started…

EVER TRY TO wear your jeans backwards? Don’t: It’s not that comfortable.

But the brave duo that were Kris Kross  (Chris ‘Mac Daddy’ Kelly and, er, Chris ‘Daddy Mac’ Smith) did attempt this marvellous feat of anti-fashion bravery back in 1992.

Their debut single Jump leaped to number one in Ireland at the end of May in that year, and stuck around in the charts for eight weeks.

Kris Kross were mere scraps of young ones, being in their early teens when their ridiculously catchy song came out, but they had the confidence of fellas far older than their years. Perhaps it was this that led us to barely blink an eye when we noticed they had their trews on arse-ways.

Sadly, on 1 May this year Chris Kelly died in Atlanta at the age of just 34, but his youthful spirit lives on in this track. Relive the glory days now:
