THE BUDGET PAIN has been prolonged by being announced over two days so some light relief is essential as far as we here at TheJournal.ie headquarters are concerned.

For no particular reason other than budget sounding similar to budgies we’ve decided to compile a fine collection of budgerigars, as they are more formally known, for your viewing pleasure.

So forget for a second the news of cuts ahead delivered by Brendan Howlin yesterday and what taxes are likely to come from Michael Noonan today and check out these fine looking birds:
