A HEATWAVE IS continuing to smother much of the USA, with several states sweltering in temperatures of almost 40 degrees centigrade.

The country has seen several days of soaring temperatures and high humidity, prompting authorities in many areas to issue health warnings. Meanwhile, people have taken to keeping cool in a number of interesting ways – and even the cows are feeling the heat…
