Big straw hats are the accessory of the summer if Bella Hadid and Emily Ratajkowski are anything to go by

They’ll go perfectly with your teeny tiny sunglasses, right?

PEOPLE IN IRELAND are increasingly obsessing over sun protection – whether it be discussions about what factor to use (50 for me), what your UVA star protection is (5* e’ry time), or how often you should apply (2-3 hours).

Because sunburn is naaat a good lewk, nor the wrinkles you’ll get down the line.

Luckily, you don’t have to necessarily sacrifice being fashionable in order to save your skin from sun damage because the accessory of the summer is looking to be a big hat.

How big you ask?

Very fecking big.

Here’s queen of early adoption of trends herself, Ms Bella Hadid, sporting one in an editorial for Vogue Mexico.

Is she compensating for something?

Are big hats for women the equivalent of a sports car for middle aged men in their 40s?

Emily Ratajkowski is also jumping on the big hat trend, with this ultra casual holiday snap.

Really vibin with Greece tbh

Danish actress Emma Leth (now Rosenzweig) chose the on-trend head gear over a veil.

Definitely sure to make a dramatic entrance with one of them yokes on ya.

As well as on celebrity models, big straw hats have been increasingly seen in fashion magazines.

Here’s one featured on the cover of Spanish Vogue.

 As well as French Vogue…

Loving how they got around Instagram’s ridiculous (female) nipple ban with that black strip.

Emily’s hat can be yours if you have a spare €590 lying around for the ‘Le Grand Chapeau Bomba’ (translates to Big Bomb Hat).

If not, then never fear.

ASOS  has a cool one on sale for a more affordable €22.12, although it does have ‘Beach Bum’ written on it, which slightly ruins the classy south of France vibes/aesthetics you might be going for.

Or River Island has a chic black-rimmed one for €37.

Definitely worth the investment for your instagram game.

Oh, wrinkle-free skin.
