LAST NIGHT, TV3′S Gogglebox Ireland returned to our television screens at long last.
The show has brought back old favourites like the Tullys from Co. Cavan as well as new commentators like granny-and-grandson duo Tadhg and Ettie from Co. Clare.
This week, the telly watchers cast their critical eye over the likes of Celebrity Big Brother, The Secret Life of 5 Year Olds, Spy In The Wild, Life On The List and The Ellen Show.
As always, the one-liners came in thick and fast.
On Nicola McLean:
“Who is she, Tadhg?” ”Nicola McLean.”
“Is she a model?” “She’s a boobie model.”
On Jedward
They give twins a bad name, them hoors.
On the mere sight of Jamie Dornan
But the line of the nigh? That came from Eva Ryan in Co. Limerick.
While watching Alfred Hitchcock’s The Birds, one of Eva’s sons quipped that the birds were saying, “Give us an auld kiss there,” while they ravaged Tippi Hedren.
And then their Mam said…
Give us an auld finger more like.
MAM!
Eva quickly backtracked and said that she simply meant that the birds were trying to eat the lead’s fingers.
But by then it was too late…
Oh Mam.
