Glossier Play: We finally know what it is and it’s neither sex toys nor an app

But it sure is pretty.

OVER THE LAST few years, a number of new makeup brands with very clear objectives have come on the market and earned themselves a legion of loyal fans because of it.

One such brand is Glossier

Founded in 2010, Glossier has grown from strength to strength earning a huge online following and becoming one of the most talked-about makeup brands of last year.

Their ethos was simple – creating beautiful skin that provides the perfect base for flawless makeup – and people love it.

So, you can imagine their (and my) excitement when news of a new range appeared online just a few weeks ago.

The announcement of Glossier Play had everyone curious as to what the brand might be launching next, with people guessing it could be anything from a range of body-safe sex toys, a collection of silk clothing items, to a new app.

Well, now we finally know and it’s a little closer to home that many thought.

Glossier Play is a whole new range of makeup products for those looking for a little more fun from their makeup bag.

So far, all of the Glossier products have been developed to create the perfect ‘no-makeup’ makeup, but now you can add some life to your look with their four brand new products.

The collection has just launched online with many already sharing their reviews on social media.

But what do the new products look like?

Well, up first is the Colourslide eye pencil.

This high-pigment, smooth gel pencil promises not to crease, smudge, tug or skip so you can work seamlessly to create a multitude of looks.

It also comes in 14 different colours so your options really are endless. And for €15, they’re fairly reasonably priced too.

Next up is the most non-Glossier product of the bunch – the Glitter Gelée.

The glitter gel pots are the one-step answer to a shimmering eye. The multidimensional paillettes reflect the light beautifully, making these glitters really shimmer.

They promise to be comfortable, wearable and long-lasting and we think they make for the perfect travel makeup bag item.

They come in four different colours and will set you back €14.

Glossier are already known for their love of glowy skin, with their Haloscope stick being one of their most popular products.

So, it comes as no surprise that they are adding to their highlighting range with Niteshine.

This liquid highlighter is buildable and is made with a refined pearl powder to create maximum sheen on the skin.

It comes in four different shades – although I’d imagine you’ll want them all – and it’s on sale for €19.

Finally, the Generation G lipsticks are one of my personal favourite products from the main range so I’m dying to try out the new Vinylic Lip.

Describes as a lip vinyl, the Vinylic creates a high-shine finish but maintains a non-sticky formula which is comfortable to wear.

The opaque formula comes in six different colours from bright orange to deep berry and costs just €16.
