Guinness heir sued over bad bath habits

Daphne Guinness’s New York neighbour says she keeps letting the bath overflow – causing damage to his apartment.

GUINNESS HEIR DAPHNE GUINNESS is being sued by a neighbour for allegedly allowing her bath to repeatedly overflow.

Karim Samii, who lives in the apartment below the designer’s, says that Guinness, 42, has flooded his bathroom four times.

According to the NY Post, he is seeking $1m in compensation for damage caused by the water – and an injunction preventing Guinness from  using the tub until steps have been taken to ensure it won’t overflow again.

Samii claims the first flooding occurred around Halloween last year and caused his family “great inconvenience” because they were unable to use their master bathroom for a period.

Guinness has been living at the property since 2008, having allegedly paid $15m for the 4,100 sq ft apartment.

Samii alleges the building’s caretaker witnessed the floodings and ascertained that Guinness had allowed the water in her bath to overflow. On one occasion, he says, the designer was on the phone and had apparently forgotten that she was running a bath.
