AH, REMEMBER CRAWDADDY?
Home to the likes of Antics, C.U.N.T. and Strangeways, Here We Come, the nightclub was the scene of many a great (and messy) night.
Unfortunately, Crawdaddy and Tripod shuttered in 2012 and have laid empty ever since.
Last week, Alex of record label Vision Collector happened to be walking by when he noticed that one of the doors was open.
I was literally just cycling by and the door was slightly opened so I locked by bike and strolled in.
He then proceeded to have a little wander around and took photos of what the inside looks like now.
Surprisingly, very little has changed.
It’s almost the same inside as the day it closed.
Alex wrote on Facebook, “Safe to say it’s exactly how we left it. Lights and sound systems still in place. Funktion ones and turbo rigs lying aimlessly around the floor.”
Even the bar was totally set up and ready to go.
Unfortunately, Alex was stopped before he got to peer inside Tripod
A tempting door leading through into Tripod but that’s where I was stopped and asked politely to leave.
Nonetheless, Alex told DailyEdge.ie that it was “lovely” to see inside Crawdaddy one last time.
Since Alex uploaded the photos on Friday, people have been sharing their memories of Crawdaddy and mourning its loss.
RIP, Crawdaddy.
Gone but never forgotten.
