This magazine has invented the 'Irish barmbrack cocktail' for Halloween

FOOD & WINE Magazine is a bit of an authority for all things booze and grub related – having been around for decades at this stage.

But this Halloween they’ve come up with something very strange… and peculiarly Irish.

The Barmbrack Cocktail

Yes, it is based on the classic Irish bread.

As they explain:

This creamy, spiced drink honors an Irish Halloween bread called barm brack, which contains currants and raisins. Traditionally, various objects–a coin, a ring, a pea–were baked inside the loaf as a kind of fortune-telling game.

We’re assuming no coins will be inside the cocktail.
