A LOT of people were fooled by this disturbing tweet from a parody ITV account...

YOU MAY HAVE seen the above tweet bouncing around your Twitter timeline earlier today.

As you can see, the tweet states that Former Prime Minister John Major had revealed more details on his infamous affair with Edwina Currie, including that Currie had a penchant for dressing up as, ahem, Margaret Thatcher.

Can this possibly be true?

Fortunately, no it’s not.

While the account may look totally legit, it’s actually a parody ITV News account with around 10,000 followers that regularly posts these sorts of fake, salacious stories.

The relief was palpable.

Although for some, the damage had been already done.
