Jessica Simpson might have been locked on live TV last night... it's The Dredge

All the best of the day’s celebrity filth.

EVERY WEEKDAY MORNING, DailyEdge.ie rounds up the best of the day’s celebrity dirt from the top to the very bottom.

Was Jessica Simpson locked on television last night? It certainly looks that way.

The singer was on Home Shopping Network promoting her new clothing line, but seemed as though she had enjoyed a beverage or two before going on air.

And it looks like people at home noticed.

Yikes.

Simpson has yet to comment on the incident. (TMZ)

Amy Huberman returned to her old stomping ground in UCD yesterday to deliver a talk to UCD Dramsoc. The actress was then awarded with an honorary fellowship to the society.

(Sure, wasn’t she a member of the society with Chris O’Dowd back in the day?)

Thank you so much@dramsoc @UCDSocieties @ucddublinfor having me back and for the honarary fellowship award. I was so chuffed and had such a great evening.

Apparently she was “classy, charming and funny”.

Just be our mate, Amy. Please.

Emily Blunt has apologised for making a joke about regretting her American citizenship. The actress, who is married to John Krasinski, joked that she had some doubts about her new home after watching a Republican debate.

We watched the [Republican] debate and I thought, ‘This was a terrible mistake. What have I done?” I’m not sure I’m entirely thrilled about (becoming a American).

The quote was subsequently picked up by Fox News, who advised her to leave America if she felt that way.

Yesterday the actress apologised for the remark and said she did not intend to cause offence.

It was so not the intention to hurt anybody or cause any offence, so I really apologise to those that I caused offence. It was just an off-hand joke. I think I’ll probably leave the political jokes to Late Night or something.

The lesson? Never joke about America. (US Weekly)
