sequels find a way

Will John Krasinski star in Jurassic Park 4?

He’s stepping out of The Office and in to the wilderness.

WE’RE PROPERLY EXCITED at the prospect of a new Jurassic Park. The 4th instalment of the prehistoric franchise is likely to be set in a world where John Hammond’s Jurassic theme park has become a reality.

Since the sequel was announced, the rumour mill has been in overdrive, speculating about potential plot-lines and castings.

The latest is that the US Office star John Krasinski up for major role as a park warden in charge of taming the dinosaurs. We can’t imagine that’ll go smoothly.

The movie’s director Colin Trevorrow has yet to comment on the rumours, but cleared up a few things during a recent appearance on the Jurassic Cast podcast

It’s important to make a movie for the fans but I also have to remember that there’s a lot of people who just couldn’t care less and need me to make a solid case for why the hell there’s a Jurassic Park 4 in the first place and I want to make a movie for them too.

The director went on to say

This is not a paycheck gig for me and it’s not the movie that I’m making so I can make the movies that I really want to make. I actually want to make a kick-ass Jurassic Park movie.

Sure it doesn’t even feel like work for him, where else would you get to play with dinosaurs all day?

When I get to sit down with guys like John Rosengrant and adjust the talon length on a dinosaur and then we’re looking at variations on skin colour, that never feels like work. That’s when I feel like a kid.

There have been concerns that the movie, due to be released in 3d in 2015, would show a muzzled t-rex due to theme park safety logic. Trevorrow drops some hints that this won’t be the case.

I saw some of the rumours on the internet and I would have all kinds of red flags going off if I heard they were going to muzzle a T-Rex. So I would say don’t believe everything you read, there are way more insiders on the internet than there are in real life.

He also confirmed that a new dinosaur will be introduced. Jack Horner, a palaeontologist working on the movie, previously said

I can’t actually tell you who that will be..But you’ll want to keep the lights on after you see this movie.

Sounds terrifying.
