A FEW WEEKS ago, The Late Late Show featured a céilí cover of Smooth Criminal and everyone figured that would probably be the most surreal musical performance of 2016.

But last night the show outdid itself when hip-hop legends The Sugarhill Gang and trad musician John Spillane teamed up for an unlikely cover of  Óró Sé do Beatha ‘Bhaile.

No, really.

It was like being at a wild session where everyone is demented from drink and all bets are off.

Viewers at home were rubbing their eyes in disbelief at the spectacle.

The fact that it preceded a serious discussion on porn just made it all the more random.
