TAYLOR SWIFT HAS been everywhere this week.
Transforming her social media accounts into mysterious videos of snakes will have that effect alright. But yesterday she followed it up with news of an actual album called ‘Reputation’, including artwork above.
But anyone who has been following the snake videos will know that it’s a reference that goes back to a long running feud involving Kanye West and Kim Kardashian from last year (and beyond).
It all boils down to when Kanye West released Famous – his first single from his latest album The Life of Pablo – and it included the line:
I think that me and Taylor might still have sex, I made that bitch famous.
Kanye said that Taylor gave the line her blessing, but Taylor called that out saying no such permission was given. Kim then blew her story out of the water with a video showing Taylor had been more than happy with the line and said so on the phone.
Which led to this tweet – and Taylor forever more to be known by many as a snake
Due to her apparent shnakey behaviour.
Now Taylor is obviously trying to take ownership of the snake insult by posting these videos this week
Which has meant over the past few days, Kardashian’s social media has been inundated with snake emoji replies from Swift fans
Mountains of snakes popping up in her Twitter mentions
But as Buzzfeed discovered yesterday, if you look at her Instagram comments there’s not a snake to be seen – anywhere
They even went in to comment a snake emoji underneath. Sure, it was visible to the person who commented it – but not when they logged out. Meaning that all snake emojis are blocked from Kim Kardashian’s Insta.
Instagram even said in a statement:
We give people the choice to make their own lists of banned words or emojis that won’t appear in their comments.
Imagine that, thousands of Swift fans thinking that they are spamming Kardashian’s comment section with snakes only to find out that nobody else can see them.
This feud is taking pettiness to the next level, and the internet is loving it.
